frequently asked questions
What is naturopathic medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a whole-person approach to health that focuses on understanding patterns, supporting the body’s natural processes, and creating personalized wellness plans that fit real life. Care may include nutrition, lifestyle support, lab interpretation, stress management, and education to help patients feel more informed and supported in their health decisions.
Who do you work with?
Dr. Jen works with both women and men seeking personalized wellness support. Many patients are navigating concerns related to fatigue, stress, digestion, hormone shifts, sleep, inflammation, or feeling “off” without clear answers.
Is care virtual?
Yes, appointments are currently offered virtually for patients across Michigan. Virtual care allows for thoughtful, convenient appointments while still providing personalized support, education, and follow-up care.
What is a Meet & Greet?
A Meet & Greet is a complimentary introductory conversation designed to help us get to know each other. It’s an opportunity to discuss your health concerns, ask questions, and determine whether working together feels like the right fit.
What can I expect during the first appointment?
The initial appointment is a comprehensive conversation focused on understanding your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, stress levels, goals, and daily routines. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns and discussing realistic next steps that support your overall health.
Initial appointments may include:
- Comprehensive health history
- Symptom review
- Lifestyle evaluation
- Lab review
- Personalized recommendations
- Nutrition and wellness guidance
- Supplement recommendations when appropriate
Labs may be recommended when appropriate to help further evaluate symptoms and better understand overall health patterns.
Do you recommend labs?
Yes. Lab testing may be recommended when appropriate to help better understand symptoms, identify patterns, and guide personalized care recommendations. This may include standard bloodwork or specialty testing depending on individual needs.
Do you recommend supplements?
Not necessarily. Recommendations are always personalized and based on your individual symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and goals. While supplements may be recommended when appropriate, the focus is on creating realistic, sustainable wellness support that fits into everyday life.
Care may also include nutrition guidance, lifestyle recommendations, lab review, stress support, and habit-building strategies to help support overall health without creating overwhelm.
Can I work with you alongside my doctor?
Absolutely. Care is collaborative, and communication with primary care physicians, specialists, therapists, physical therapists, dermatologists, and other providers may be encouraged when appropriate. The goal is to support your overall health as part of a broader care team.
How often do follow-up appointments happen?
Follow-up timing depends on individual needs, goals, and the level of support desired. Some patients benefit from more frequent appointments initially, while others schedule periodic check-ins for continued guidance, accountability, and progress support.
Do you accept insurance?
No but payments from Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are accepted.
